Enriching the Journey of Ageing Through Creativity and Connection.

About Us

At the Ageing Well Creative Lab, we believe that the later years of life should be filled with exploration, connection, and well-being. Based at the University of the Sunshine Coast, our lab is dedicated to developing programs that empower older adults to stay active, creative, and socially connected. Through innovative projects like photo walks, tech skill workshops, and outdoor experiences, we provide meaningful opportunities for older Australians to engage with their communities, explore new skills, and enjoy the benefits of a creative lifestyle.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to enrich lives by fostering creativity, movement, and connection. We design and lead projects that make creative expression and physical activity accessible to everyone, including individuals from aged care and home care settings.

Positive Impact

The impact of our programs has been profound, with participants reporting increased fitness, decreased reliance on mobility aids, enhanced social connections, and a newfound appreciation for their surroundings. For example, our Photo Walk Pilot Project helped participants like Beryl Roberts improve their fitness and enjoy new friendships. “These walks were an avenue to better health,” she shared. “I’m the most observant I’ve ever been.” Through projects like this, we support older adults in discovering new passions and empowering them to lead healthier, more connected lives.

Our Approach

Led by experts in creative arts and gerontology, including Dr. Tricia King and her dedicated team, we partner with local care providers, industry professionals, and research institutions. Together, we’re able to develop and expand programs that bring lasting positive change and joy to older adults. By providing access to engaging, accessible, and supportive activities, we’re making it possible for everyone to embrace an active, creative, and connected lifestyle..
